Our Barrel Acid Zinc Plating Equipment is designed for them. It uses a potassium chloride acid zinc system. Current efficiency exceeds 95%. Deposition rate is 1.5 to 2 times that of alkaline zinc. Plating time is 25 to 35 minutes for an 8 to 12 µm zinc layer. With appropriate passivation, neutral salt spray tests reach 48 to 120 hours. This meets ASTM B633 SC2 requirements.
Materials and Construction for Acid Resistance
Acid solutions corrode carbon steel. Tanks and pipes use PVC or PP materials. A high-flow circulation filter runs 3 to 5 cycles per hour. It continuously removes anode sludge and organic decomposition products. The barrel uses acid-resistant PP or ABS. The opening design allows fast solution entry and exit.
